Advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad?
It is true that these days students are aware of the benefits of studying abroad which becoming more and more popular. While I accept that this has both benefits and drawbacks, I would argue that there are more advantages than disadvantages.
On the one hand, there are serious drawbacks for students to study abroad. Firstly, the language barrier is one of the difficulties with new students on the first day. Thus, for example, students can’t afford to understand as well as communicate with foreigners and local people. Secondly, going overseas can be challenging because students will live away from home. They will deal with homesick or cultural shock without parents nearby.
On the other hand, I believe that there are important benefits, which outweigh these disadvantages. The principal reason for this view is that studying abroad brings students a lot of chances and life skills in the new country. Students can discover the culture and broaden their horizons by living with foreigners and practicing English. Another advantage for students when they enroll in a study abroad program is the new way to see their major that they have ever seen before. Thanks to studying abroad, students have good facilities and teachers who improve their academic knowledge. As a result, an international degree helps students open doors job opportunities with high salary. Last but not least, overseas students can also meet new friends from different places who chat and share their happiness or sadness every day.
My conclusion would be that this is a well-balanced issue as there are both merits and demerits but the advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages.
