String.strip()[-3:] nghĩa là gì trong Python?

Mình đang sử dụng RasberryPi và python để làm phần mềm đo nhiệt độ ngoài trời. Mình hiểu hàm strip() dùng để cắt ký tự trống ở đầu và cuối chuỗi nếu không có tham số truyền vào, Nhưng lệnh strip()[-3:] thì mình không hiểu nó có ý nghĩa như thế nào?

Mong bạn nào có thể giải thích giùm mình?

string.strip()[-3:] tức là đầu tiên cắt ký tự space ở đầu và cuối, sau đó lấy ra 1 chuỗi 3 ký tự tính từ cuối cuỗi (tức là string = '12345' thì string[-3:] == '345'). Là vậy đó :3
