Wrong, IDE is good for someone who's already known about the OOPL he/she works with. For those who claim to be newbie IDE is a curse, a trap to keep them forever stupid. Let take this example: 12.5 or 12,5 is the same for human, but totally different for Computer. Does IDE tell its users that they have mistaken European format for US format?
Another example, you posted a question about OutOfMemory. Does IDE tell you exactly the reason? On a command line you get exactly an error message which is usually clear enough for those who can read English, and a real solution for those who are versed with Computer Science.
